Castle Stuart is a Links course situated on the shores of the Moray Firth in Inverness. After  Mark Parsinen's (American golf course developer) huge success at Kingsbarns he decided to search the Scottish coastline for a spectacular piece of land to build another championship Links course. The piece of land chosen is an area between Inverness and Nairn along the scenic Moray Firth and it provides a stunning backdrop for the modern Links.

Mark Parsinen has shown yet again what his golfing philosophies are as Castle Stuart offers a tough but fair golfing challenge. Much like Kingsbarns golf course golfers of nearly all abilities will be able to enjoy their round of golf without losing numerous golf balls and racking up outrageous scores. It is the design of the greens that offer the course protection and not narrow fairways lined with thick rough which is a recurring theme in current championship courses. In order to provide yourself with a realistic chance of making par or birdie the golfer must position their tee shot leaving the appropriate angle into the green. If the tee shot is out of position it is likely that the player will have little chance in hitting the green and a visit to one of the natural sand traps would be likely outcome.

A course that only opened in 2009 has had a spectacular first few years in the golfing world. It was chosen to host the Scottish Open from 2011-2013 and will again host the event in 2016. It was rated No.56 in Golf Magazine's top 100 courses in the world in 2013 and will likely break into the top 50 in the coming years. It truly is a magnificent golf course, with a number of holes hugging the coastline and spectacular views on offer throughout.
