Scotia Golfing Mid-Season Update

It has been another busy year for Scottish Golf and golf tourism in Scotland. As Scotia Golfing reaches its 5th birthday it is safe to say that golf in Scotland is in a good state.

As always the St Andrews region remains the busiest and most popular golfing area in Scotland. The lure of the Old Course remains great, especially with the 150th Open Championship being held there in 2021. Kingsbarns has been in fantastic condition again and remains one of our favourite courses in the country. The playability of the course, which suits all levels, given it's championship status is simply brilliant.

We are currently able to offer limited guaranteed Old Course packages for 2020 and if these are of interest then be sure to enquire ASAP. With these packages requiring at least a mininum 3 night stay (sometimes 5 night) in St Andrews they don't offer huge flexibility in including other great golf regions in Scotland.

Our Scottish golf and whisky tours remain hugely popular. These usually include a trip to the speyside region and a round at Royal Dornoch, Nairn and Castle Stuart. There are also some brilliant hidden gems up in the north of Scotland including courses like Tain and Brora. Sometimes the lesser known courses are the courses that our clients enjoy most on their Scotland golf tour.

The golf and whisky tours can also include trips to Aberdeen and a round at Royal Dornoch, Cruden Bay, Murcar and Trump International. With some fine distilleries within a 20 minute drive Aberdeen remains a fantastic golf and whisky destination.

Following the recent renovations made to the Machrie golf course and hotel, Islay is now back to the top of any golf and whisky tour, especially for those who enjoy a peaty dram. The courses on the western Isles and westerly coast of Scotland (Machrie. Machrihanish and Mach Dunes) offer the golfer a feeling of somewhat rustic golfing experience. Perhaps the way it was meant to be played.

No Scotland Golf Tour is complete without a visit to Turnberry and Royal Troon. Both of these are brilliant courses and available on many of our Scottish golf packages. Turnberry has every reason to claim to be the best course in the UK. The recent changes to the course are simply stunning!

Who could also forget Scotland's Golf Coast. East lothian is a golfing meccah and has an abundance of world class championship golf courses. More to come on East Lothian in the coming weeks when I will do a special post on the fantastic courses in this area.
