Atlantic Salmon, the king of fish is our most iconic species, one that anglers travel all over the globe to fish for. Scotland is the home of Salmon fly fishing, Spey casting was born here and what better place to learn the art than with Loop endorsed, SGAIC (scottish game angling instructors certified) spey casting instructors on your river of choice! We can organise Atlantic Salmon fly fishing in Scotland on our prolific big four: The river Tweed, The river Tay, river Spey and river Dee or some of Scotland's lesser known gems and our secret spots!

Brown Trout Fly Fishing

Wild Brown Trout are the most abundant species in Scotland, our rivers and lochs are full of them! What these little golden bars often lack in size they make up for in spirit and beauty. We can fish for wild brown Trout from a boat using traditional Scottish "Loch style" wet fly methods on Iconic waters like Leven or stick on a pair of waders and fish from the shore or in the river. The trout season runs from the 15th of March to the 6th of October, outside of these dates you can fish for Grayling still in our rivers or in Lochs for stocked Rainbow Trout.

Grayling Fly Fishing in Scotland

Grayling are often referred to as the "lady of the stream" in regards to their beauty. They can be found in a number of rivers across the central belt of Scotland and are an excellent sport fish, often easier to tempt than their spotted cousins. Grayling can be fished for all year although peak season is from December - March. Grayling can be fished for in conjunction with targeting brown trout in rivers also. Scotland is home to some of the best Grayling fishing in Europe and we can expect fish up to 3lb each season. Grayling are a species we definitely recommended for beginners and experts alike. A great one to tick of the bucket list!

Pike Fly Fishing in Scotland

Pike are one of our favourite species and arguably Scotland's best sport fish, why? Pike get big, 20lb fish are not uncommon in Scotland. These awesome predators, often referred to as the freshwater shark will hit a fly or lure with an unmatched ferociousness, they have no fear and will hit a fly right at your feet. They are also one of the strongest species we have pound for pound, they may lack the stamina of a Salmon but they make up for it in other ways.  Pike fly fishing in Scotland is mainly done from a boat or for the more adventurous you can try float tubing!
